E questa sarebbe una recensione?
Beh, quello che emerge dalla recensione è esattamente quello che viene riportato nelle varie interviste al buon Marylin Manson negli ultimi mesi. Ed è perfettamente in linea con quanto scritto in altre fanzine cartacee ed elettroniche. Eat me, drink me è un disco autobiografico dai toni cupi ma al tempo stesso pacati e intimisti...
Quello che però non emerge dalla recensione è che il disco in questione è tremendamente noioso, privo di mordente, i brani si trascinano uno uguale all'altro con un senso di spossatezza e, dal punto di vista prettamente musicale, mai è presente un momento di acme emotivo nell'intero lavoro del reverendo.
Certo i testi sembrano cosegnarci un Manson (ooopss un Warner ...) più maturo che a sangue, morte e disperazione alterna romanticismi un tempo inaspettabili ((“Love is a fire, burns down everything/everything will burn, everything you say...")
Però è la band che non gira.
Eat me, drink me è il disco solista di Brian Warner, artista in crisi con se stesso e con il mondo che lo circonda in cerca di una nuova identità. Sperando che la ritrovi presto e torni ad essere il maledettissimo Antichrist Superstar.

no scusa...io speravo che tu mi potessi dire che quello che lui è ora non sia solo il frutto di posizioni contrastanti con la religione o di adolescenza inquieta o da "poverino si è sentito tradito da dio".
a tutti capitano queste cose e forse lui è particolarmente sensibile quindi gli ha fatto particolarmente male però non puoi vivere per manifestare un dissenso...o no?
quello che lui è ora non è quello del 1994: c'è stata un'evoluzione come lo stesso Brian ha spiegato; nulla rimane fermo e anche lui ha percorso la sua strada e i risultati si possono vedere, che piacciano o no.
Al di la del look che man mano ha assunto, si è sempre dichiarato in dissenso ai "miti" americani ma soprattutto ai dogmi quali quelli religiosi.
Se dentro di se vive esclusivamente per manifestare un dissenso, questo non lo so, certo è che ha avuto una sua adolescenza (con un nonno non proprio modello)...avrei tante di quelle domande da porgli...chissà mai...

Forse potrebbe essere una mia recensione, dato che di musica non me ne intendo dal punto di vista tecnico. Ma da un addetto ai lavori vorrei qualcosa di più, capisci? Se no tale recensione non sembra altro che qualche pensiero estemporaneo buttato lì, tanto per dire qualcosa.
E comunque concordo sul fatto che Tim Skold ha peggiorato la qualità musicale della band, anzichè migliorarla. Si sente la mancanza di Twiggy.
